The Universal by Blur, fantastic tune, but is now forever tarnished by a certain rip off utility company. Ironically, it's the last thing I would have expected Damon and Co to sanction ie: Big Business using one of their tunes, but what do I know? Maybe the record Co had a bigger say in it.

Anything by Toto. Thanks to radio 2's rep as "radio Toto" and some questionable lyrics.
Still so many great songs though.

On a related note: Boz Skaggs Lido Shuffle... ...and Dire Straits fit this category, especially Money for Nothing. Hotel California, too.

"Gimme Shelter" Rolling Stones, and did you know the story behind BTO's "You Ain't Seen Nothin'Yet"?  Randy Bachman wrote it as a joke to poke fun at his brother who had a bit of a stuttering problem and never intended to release it.  Someone from his record company heard it and convinced him to put it on the next album. 

I also admit, I like some of Bryan Adams songs too.

Whatever You Want - Status Quo. It's a fine song, but an advertisers dream hence being overplayed through the years.
Paranoid - Black Sabbath. Used to be on every 'Rock' compilation album
She Sells Sanctuary - The Cult. For similar reasons as Paranoid
All Right Now - Free. Still one of my favourite songs even though I must have heard it several thousand times
Hard To Handle - Black Crowes. Great band & song, but this seems to be the only one of their songs that seem to make radio playlists.
