First pic you can see was taken from old pic hanging on my wall. I literally drew around a USA tele with a felt tip ( a thick one) for dimensions, so was a little out. Neck went first for a mighty mite, which I had for years till hands got so bad I could not play it anymore. So mate Keith Robbins built me a new ultra fat one ! Pickups I changed almost on a weekly basis ! Till I got a Peter Florence Voodoo 50's. And yes that is a piece of welsh slate set into leather pick guard.

Here's mine. It started off as a 2010 ash bodied American Deluxe Tele, no body contours. Replaced the noiseless pickups with Bare Knuckle Flat Pole 50's and the S1 switching with a Callaham control plate assembly with 4 way switch. Nice and light, weighs bang on 7lbs. Might replace the bridge at some point with a Callaham vintage style one. Anybody tried one?

I haven't tried the full Tele bridge but the Callaham Strat trem and hardtail are both excellent.

Dead easy, Fender made it, somebody bought it over there, then they sold it, to me, and now I have it. (Do you see what I did there? Do you?)

I jest! My bad. I'll whack some pics up when I get a minute tomorrow. V nice guitar. Significantly more knackered than when I got it. It's a 'keeper' so it gets abused, I don't bother casing it when it gets gigged as they really are bomb proof. That's one reason I love 'em. V light blonde although not white blonde by any means. Light as a feather. Lovely neck, although distinctive taper, nowhere near '51 Nocaster proportions, which is generally what I prefer, a bit of 'heft'. It's not skinny either, just really comfy. BKP Piledriver. Roars.

Cert says 04/03/03 and the serial on the neck plate is R13843 (and I thought it was a '07!). Custom '59 Esquire Relic apparently. Signed off by Alex Nicholas, whoever he is.

  • I think it depends who asks. @koneguitarist Nigel makes very fine T style guitars, all hand made. He's really a violin/cello maker so knows how to work wood. Fender really doesn't like him, even though the headstock shape is different they've got a vendetta against him when he pops his head above water!

    Very nice indeed @jd0272!

That's what I heard @Van_Hayden, having seen some of his guitars in the past, I can see why. Do you know a ballpark figure of a Crinson T or E style build or a contact email/number please?

Have a quick google @koneguitarist, there are a couple of nice pics circulation. I'm particularly taken by the pic of the Esquire you're holding that your friend built, I forget his name..?
