the whole LOTR thing is beyond me but every year I get dragged to this and it's this weekend. There seems to be a lot of love for LOTR and the Hobbit on here so I thought it might be of interest.
It is at Sarehole Mill ( the anagramist's delight....) in Brum, it is free but £2 to park. There's a website and Facebook page with the proper details. People dressing up, stalls, readings, that kind of thing. Tolkien used to live by the mill so it has a direct connection with him.
If you go on Sunday and see a middle aged man dragging a Jack Russell around that's probably me. Buy me an ice cream.

Actually the mill itself is reasonably interesting and it's fresh air and exercise so I can...no, it's just all very silly...
