That websites a bit hipster...
Agreed, it would've been lovely to see the original designs resurrected, but good luck to them.
Imagine those designs with some of Ash's or Marc @ Mojo's pickups - especially in view of both of them are easily capable of coming up with something unique looking, unique sounding and yet useable by modern players... I think its a missed opportunity.
They look like really nice guitars. Its a shame they lack the quirk of the originals
Its a bit odd as I think these would do better under the Eggle name than the Shergold one

I reckon it has more DNA of Patrick Eggle who is behind the relaunch, and I think the guitars are made in the same workshop as Faith Guitars who make some excellent acoustic guitars.
I'd definitely be up for trying the HB/P90 one - I reckon it'd make a superb platform for a Coodercaster!
Apart from a vaguely similar silhouette and the name in the headstock, these will be nothing like the originals. As a new venture I hope they are good instruments and do well, but similar to the relaunched Westburys, I am not inspired at all.
Oh, and sticking mustaches all over then place does not make you alternative, hip, cool, or whatever else you want to call it. It makes you look lazy, uninspired and frankly, a bit of a twat.
A. No. We have completely re-engineered and redesigned them.
Fail.
Wow. Exciting news!
I like the look of them and think there's enough of a nod to the originals.
Couple of questions @impmann if you're in the know.
- There's no mention of scale length on the site, any idea what it is?
- When will we see them hitting UK dealers?
......... I want one
I'm not as in the know as some but...
AFAIK, they are standard Fender scale, like the originals.
Apparently they should be hitting the dealers in early February.
I'd like to try one.
Question for @TheGuitarWeasel - Ash, could you build pickups to fit those form factors on the P90/HB version that were closer to the original ReAn pickup in terms of tonality as an aftermarket retro fit?
What I didn’t particularly like was the website - too much ‘waiting time’ and it took an age of clicks plus waiting to see all three models. Rather than the arty approach, I think you need a single shot of all 3 guitars in one hit, and then go off from there for more detail.
My reaction four decades on is identical too, "Aww bless, good luck and well done for having a go, see you in the job centre next year".
