1) It's interesting how many male rock singers have similar vocal registers (tenor?)
2) I want a Charvel.
I liked it at the time and I think it holds up well. It's not just a big mess, it's actually really well edited so the right singers sing the right parts and the guitar "solo" sounds interesting and flows pretty seamlessly (I've always especially liked the bit Buck Dharma does at the end).
Sad that some of those guys are no longer with us.
The making of Stars is a fun watch too

the identikit hairstyle
the identikit catwalk clothing

i seriously couldn't tell the singers apart, and whilst the guitar solos were great, I had no idea who was playing at any given time

Plenty of well known faces there - and of course the late great (too small a word) Dio. But also plenty of "who?" and I listened to a lot of that kind of stuff in my youth. Nice to see Davey and Adrian from Maiden there.
* other than the short haired bloke wearing a leotard. But if you closed your eyes, he still sounded like all the others.
I was just starting out on guitar during this period, and didn't really realise the majestic playing of these guys. I need to go away and do some revision on people like Brad Gillis. @FelineGuitars that documentary (rockumentary) is cool, cheers!
