First it isn't the size of a family hatchback
Second it doesn't have that horrible switch (at least you can easily replace the one in the reissue)
Thirdly it has a proper 9v input socket
Four the jack sockets aren't those horrible rusky ones
I bought a Green Russian new from Roka's on London back in the day. The first one went wrong the following day - 'bubble' switch failure. The replacement pulled the centre out of the input socket when being tested in the shop. The third was used sporadically for five years, when most of the paint was started to flake. I sold it for a profit and thought I'd done well.
They sound good but I really, really don't understand why folks get so het up about the originals. If the reissue sounds the same and don't cost a fortune, then I can't help but think that this is a good thing. Sadly, the EHX haters instantly come along rubbishing it...
In other news, seems like it's based off a tall font version: https://www.reddit.com/r/guitarpedals/comments/6u2y7r/im_just_gonna_leave_this_here/dlphmb7/
I have three modern EHX pedals on my board that I rely on and all have been 100% - I haven't experienced any of the problems that some seem to with the new pedals.
