I’ve been watching Dan’s (
@4114Effects ) amp builds for ages, and when his handwired version of a JCM800/Friedman head turned up in the classifieds I had to have it.
Here’s the original sale thread
http://www.thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/111909/fs-ft-handwired-friedman-jcm800-style-head-now-with-video-demo#latestSo since then it’s had a few ‘custom’ tweaks to it.
Along with the three mini toggles for the Gain/C45/Fat there’s now a second, footswitchable master volume for solo boosts and a passive FX loop around the back.
So pretty much everything you could want on an amp, this now has.
Lovely and compact, sits brilliantly on a Zilla Dinky cab.
Pic on top of the jubilee so you can see the size difference.
Top quality iron in there too.
Sound wise, the clean is a real revelation. Sounds gorgeous with a Boss Fender Reverb and EQD Sea Machine in the loop.
The drives are are great too, when it’s turned up it really sings. Very touch sensitive and cleans up so well using the volume.
Very happy.
And Dan’s a top chap and does a great cup of tea!

Its been switched on once since the Danplifier arrived.
Then the Danplifier got turned back on.
It’s the amp that would save Marshall, it they made it.
But they don’t.
I definitely think these need need to be put into production
@4114Effects, matching cab and footswitch next I think!

Awesome!
id be interested to know how you get on with yours , and it stacks up next to a stock jcm800
Found this clip of the amp for those interested, the lp sounds way too midrangey and honky for me, would love to hear it on edge of breakup then with a tubescreamer pushing it and used with a tele.
