I can only think the team making these adverts are trolling the management and no one is signing off on their work. Absolutely bonkers

I noticed a spelling mistake on the fender website a few weeks back and emailed them. They said they would pass it on the the web team..... still there.
Master built Jazzmsater bridge according to the spec.

Exactly. Smacks of someone who is pissed off and getting their own back to me. Mad no one at Gibson has picked up on it.

Wow!! And that would take about ten seconds to fix in photoshop too.

Very hard to imagjne that no one at Gibson or their graphics company is aware of that.

    Does anyone really care?

Websites are always full of inaccuracies, spelling mistakes etc etc.

Of course it should always be right but it smacks of pedantry to troll around seeking them out.

Or it’s a deliberate inclusion to get forum users talking about the brand!

Maybe it *is* actually a genuine mistake. Say the dept in charge of taking photos needed one of a specific colour but the only available to meet a deadline was a damaged guitar. "Thats ok, we can fix the crack in photoshop - it would be quicker". Then someone forgot to do that step. Not fantastic QC though.

Or... the photos were absolutely fine of an undamaged Les Paul and the crack was added in later by a disgruntled employee...

Pretty sure any professional art dept wouldn't have made such a piss-poor job of deleting the background either. Maybe Henry is letting his "really talented" nephew touch up the pictures.

It adds to the air of authenticity and means they can now sell on damaged stock at full price because ‘you saw it on the website’.

It's in an odd place to be a typical Gibson head crack - looks more like what you get on a typical far-east-made scarf joint where the head is a separate piece joined roughly at the E machineheads.

So I think it's Photoshop-by-disgruntled-employee… especially as the guitar is listed as a "Mythical Les Paul" on that page!

"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski

    "Just because I don't care, doesn't mean I don't understand." - Homer Simpson

  • 'tis a new feature.  It adds a mythical resonance to every note played.  Bit like an old, cracked tea chest.

What if a far-east type scarf joint is their latest "improvement"?

Looks like someone's been messing around in Photoshop. Maybe the clone tool or some such. They managed to erase half the serial number and leave traces between the machine heads.

Or this is their latest money making venture to rival the legendary hide glue? ‘Now with far eastern manufacture, just like your favourite chibson’. :)
