A TV yellow Special is probably my favourite looking guitar of all time.
You're certainly in good hands.
Will upload more pictures tonight, but after a delay (thanks UPS!) arrived yesterday.
Summary - amazing!
Only two things (I think) would make you think it's not absolutely 'original' - one there's a tiny bit on the neck which is a bit shiny (but actually looking at my mint 62, it's the same - so likely just my prejudice) and two - the smell but give it time and the paint smell will go.
Apart from that - just an amazing stellar guitar. Very, very light - and with a really thick 56 profile neck, which despite my teeny, teeny thumbs is just incredibly comfortable to play (strange because I struggle with Tele necks).
Acoustically, not as bright as my 62 but very loud - so much so that I couldn't play it unplugged when my girlfriend was on the phone 30 feet away without it disturbing her.
Plugged in - absolutely a Les Paul killer, bridge pickup is much more full and fat than my 62 (which is more a mid position because of the neck joint) and the bridge screams! Whole guitar is just much fatter than the 62 DC I have, that's almost too much treble, this is completely the other way and needs a brighter set-up.
So - completely happy with the work - which is amazing, and the guitar is a keeper for sure. And old wood wins again for me I'm afraid. Can't believe how Gibson have changed over the years
