In many ways you can test the effect of more mass on your headstock my placing the headstock of your guitar against the kitchen table or a brick wall - then play a chord before/after and hear the difference - but does this show up when plugged into the amp ?
I think it used to help remove a slight deadspot on a Tele I used to own, although I could well have been imagining it. It makes no difference that I can hear to any of my current guitars.
Open to offers btw. Form an orderly queue. It's probably vintage, you know ...
I think I have it away eventually and don’t miss it
Like his purple valves - the ones aimed at hifi customers in the 1990s. Supposedly the purple glass made a difference to the sound. So I challenged him at a hifi show in London about this asking for a scientific explanation - after five mins of hippy shit that was meaningless twaddle, I asked him again. So I got thrown out. By the following year, GT had stopped making them... funny that.
Sorry but he’s up there with Andy P, MD Phillips and Donald Trump for arse vocalisation.
in fact, if you send me your guitar and fat finger monthly, I'll can charge you a reasonable subscription price to tune it with crystals to your astrological profile so your guitar set up is aligned with your chakras and energy field through out the year.
No more pre gig concerns about Aries rising in Saturn for you, friend!
At the moment I'm looking for:
* Hamer Watson, SS2, Vintage S, T62.
* Music Man Luke 1, Luke II
Please drop me a message.
There's quite a lot of misinformation in his 'Tube Amp Book' too, not just about his own stuff.
