As an antidote to what you hate ...

I like:

Natural wood finishes
Sunbursts (Vintage, Tobacco, Red)
Mirror scratchplates (on black guitars)
Wooden tuner pegs, wooden control knobs (on the right kind of guitar)
Ebony fretboards (on most guitars)
Maple necks on Strats
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)

The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

Paisley, Bigsby, flatwound strings, rust or general corrosion, big strap pins, proper red tortie scratchplates,  split Kluson tuners, plain wood, thin finishes,  low output pickups, inappropriate knobs, dripping paint, pet hair, ciggie ash...

    Little details:
Removing the switch surround on a Les Paul GT is a nice touch.
I am finally coming around to the idea of an uncovered Bridge pickup   - probably influenced by the book Beauty of the Burst.
But I am still firmly: Pick Guard On.

  • Black guitars
    Grey guitars
    blue guitars
    purple guitars
    green guitars
    yellow guitars
    mini switches
    LOCKING TUNERS.  DEMS DE BEST.
    Posh fingerboards
posh figured woods (I know, I know...)

But most of all, I love swamp ash.  It just looks the bees knees, my jazzmaster gets a lot of attention for its looks and I'm sure it's more the swamp ash than the one piece flamed maple neck.

@guitargeek62 sometimes I think you read my mind. :D The only thing I have to add to that list is Goldtop finished les Pauls and PRS double cuts. Goldtop DGT = WIN :ar!

Agreed! Although goldtop LP's should have a wraparound bridge & P-90s! DGT's are easily my favourite production guitar that I've tried B-)

24 frets (or more - and they have to be BIG frets)
Neck heels with really good top-fret access
Green (I like pink and orange too - if there's a highlighter pen that colour, chances are it's good on a guitar)
A flat-mounted Floyd Rose is always nice
    Sustainers
    Killswitches
    P90s
    Ebony boards
    Block inlays
    Volutes, especially on Gibson-style guitars
Cream-coloured humbuckers look great on most things IMO
    CBS-style headstocks on Fenders
