I just played Pavarotti's classic 1972 performance of Nessun Dorma from Puccini's Turandot pretty loud though my nearfield monitors and have to admit I welled up a little.
It's a truly astonishing performance captured live at London's King's Hall with the
London Philharmonic Orchestra and John Alldis Choir. The power and emotion in his voice is breathtaking. What a joy to listen to this again. With the Mics at some distance how f*cking loud is he?

(To be fair I think it may be a different spelling)
Whenever I hear it, I also always think of this (unexpected) version:
Said this before on here but we had Nessun Dorma played at the old man’s funeral. I can’t listen to it anymore without choking up.
