I bought Chicago Transit Authority around 1970 and its still one of my favourite albums. Hendrix seriously rated Kath. The band went down hill after Kath blew his brains out but the first couple of albums were great.
Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!
Chicago became rather tame and dilute in comparison.

One of my most-listened-to bands. The Chicago Story is a good starting point (the 40 odd track version).
Chicago were only CTA for one album, and "25 or 6 to 4" isn't on that one.
