find yourself watching it a lot. Not those sort of videos.

I often find myself watching British rail training videos, and This old house on youtube.
I am neither a wannabe train driver or plan on doing up an New England home anytime.

yet feel compelled to watch hours of this stuff.

I often watch braille skate videos, even though I havent skated for 10 years and doubt I will again, wish I was younger!

I also watch a lot of miniwargaming videos and the angry joe show (computer games).

Kind of interests of mine but I havent gamed in donkeys yonks either.

Usually I’ll put these things on whilst im shaving my head, or taking a dump!
The only easy day, was yesterday...

I’ve been watching some hydro dipping videos recently. The results can be pretty amazing, but you do get that feeling you’re watching paint dry. Literally.

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

    Yes,very much so
    I like watching videos of people cutting up large Animals ;
Fish to be precise (still weird,I know )
There is a series of videos of Large Fish being gutted and filleted and then prepared in Japan.
These range from huge Tuna to  Giant Sunfish and various other species including giant crabs and Clams and culminate in them being cooked and served or made into Sashimi.
The VT of the Fish markets is fascinating but the skill and precision of the prep and cooking is so Japanese.
I love cooking fish and the prep is almost ritualistic.
I like watching those vids when the boot is on the other foot too..." Surfer mauled by Great White " or "Diver ambushed by Giant Octopus " but I find there is a lot of click-bait rubbish in those categories......" Giant Tiger Shark attacks School bus " etc.

Is this a bit like in Catch 22 when the one chap often went clay pigeon shooting, not because he enjoyed it but precisely because he didn't enjoy it so the hours seemed to last longer and therefore he felt he'd lived longer?
Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me

Watched the odd thing then YouTube recommends similar stuff and before you know it...lots of videos about the differences between American and English use of English and other aspects of US vs UK life. Some are awful and some quite well researched. Not really sure what I'm getting from them ( although it's a lot more complex than the 'ooh it's an awful Americanism' reactions we sometimes get on here might lead you to believe).
My eldest son loves that chap who builds big things ( like Star Wars replica vehicles made to scale) out of stuff off eBay so I've unintentionally watched some of those.
Watched taxidermy videos which are quite weird.
I do follow a chap called Barrie White who, essentially, makes short silent films about driving into car parks in France and I find this therapeutic.
And I follow a chap who does off grid type living, he's currently working as an Uber driver so I'm learning lots about that.

I watch quite a few fishing vids/programmes plus house building, neither of which have I any involvement in.  I quite like farming programmes too, and not just for the sheep : )

Well, I'm about half way through and loving it so far. Wish they'd used a different colour though. White is very boring.

Oddly enough a lot of old 1970s UK car videos. I wasn't even born until 1980.
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

I seem to be somewhat hooked on watching Shroud PUBG videos, and some random guy that does fpv vids of his airsoft days. I briefly played PUBG, I've done airsoft exactly twice, ever, and the last time was 8 years ago.

not really. more the opposite. eg i think i'm interested in something & then i watch a few vids about it & realise not so much.

'guitar building' is the worst one of those. i think i might be able to build a guitar & i keep thinking i would really like to have a go, but then i watch the videos & it just all seems so hellishly complicated & needing of so many stages & fancy machines & it just kind of kills it for me.
if i had a garage or shed, if i had tools, if i didn't literally puke at the smell of solvents... but i don't.

but every few months i go back & watch one & start thinking 'maybe' again.
it actually annoys me when i start doing it, because i know that if i am not going to do it, then watching videos about it is pure waste of time.

Why not go on one of those week long courses, you end up building the guitar like you want and get help/guidence throughout plus you use someone elses expensive toys...er...tools.

I think @TTony did one that got him started, others here may have further comments and suggestions.
