Given the new rules and restrictions (a good idea as far as I'm concerned) I'm tempted to go with something I wouldn't normally do with my current band.  Still mulling it over but I've a few ideas.

This isn't until Feb and songs suggestions are going to be wrapped up within a week? Crikey
I'll get two other suggestions down later on..

PAID, occasional live player (haven't gigged for ~2 years).

Paradise City, lead, GNR album version (quite a few folk have noted interest in this!! @darthed1981 says he could sing?)
The Chain, acoustic rhythm (maybe vox but will see...) with @Alnico and @Bridgehouse I think?
Holiday Road, rhythm/lead + backing vox, album version (Lindsay Buckingham)

One of the biggest complaints I get is prep and practise time :)

This way - I get to say “you had PLENTY of time” ;)

  • not paid yet. played many a gig. the below choices are based on what i think are some nice, interesting and easy songs to play. not to taxing on the old noggin u might say.

Summer breeze - seals and crofts (1 of the vox and lead guitar / poss ac guit)
i'm thinking S&C's structure but then tab the ernie isley solo on the end, if that dont work out just keep it as the original.

Any colour you like - pink floyd - (lead guitar) we will also need an organ for this, and rather than the original, this nice live version for a change, as no synth solo:

My sharona - the Knack - (vox n rhythm guitar, Doug Fieger) ballsy riffage! lead and bass (and poss drums) need to sing BV my sharona!

    I'd happily +1 that one.

Needs a good tight rhythm section and it's one of those "harder than it sounds" songs.  But love it @CustomPedalBoards !
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

yup the riff is simple enough but the emphasis on the my sharonaaaaa bit is very important and also the progressive solo bit. its all about attitooode man. and u gotta sing!

    Paid

Rare live player - so rare I've only been heard on stage the once*  :)

Shocking Blue - Venus - album version - rhythm (or poss lead) - great with female vocals (and yes Bananarama did a cover version)
Johnny Cash - Ring of Fire - album version - rhythm
Jimi Hendrix - Hey Joe - album version - rhythm (poss lead)

    Thanks :)
The past two years i've barely picked up a guitar. I used to gig every week and have practice every other day and (as I'm sure you know) you tend to reach a different level. That's where I want to get back to :)
