Wot? No self-oscillation from the VCF?
    Be seeing you.

Judging by this Superbooth 2018 video, it does. (Jump to 09:00.)

Do you think it will be another home run for Behringer? I've got the Oddity2 plugin which I really like.

  • I really like my Korg Arp Odyssey tbh, and they can be had for £500 these days. Feel like We have Odyssey covered already

I would take the Behringer over the small key KORG. I would take the KORG module over the Behringer.

In that case, check out the KORG Legacy Collection Odyssey plug-in.

I still have a Creamware Prodyssey ASB module. It employs some modelling technology. It has built-in effects like the Behringer but no onboard sequencer.

Where the Prod scores over all of the other hardware renditions is in having patch memories and the capability to go fully polyphonic. (The latter is only really any use for simple string and brass pads.)

The Prod loses out in the VCF department. The only filtering options are a Rev.3 4075 type and Rev.2/Minimax 4035 type. (A 4023 option might have been nice.) There is an additional slider control for velocity sensitivity control over the ADSR EG. Most of its capabilities are accessed in the hidden features

The manufacturer's own editor/librarian software for the Prod never got revised beyond Power PC chip G5 Macs. Maybe, Sound Quest has something suitable?

One of these days, I really ought to try to match up the MIDI CC numbers so that the Prod can manipulate the KLC plug-in parameters.

    Yeah, I will thanks.

I find the secret to using VST synths is to run them through some Nebula preamps, or a plugin such as True Iron, and then I use the BX SSL Consoles with channel modelling. Of course, it also helps other digital stuff such as Helix Native and Superior Drummer too. The digital side of things are getting a lot better these days.
