Those are the basic details regarding this exemplary example of Fender’s top of the range production Stratocaster from the early nineties. If you’re still reading this, then you are probably aware that Strat Ultras don’t often pop up for sale. They were essentially Stratocasters which had the ability and versatility to range from Tele tones to traditional Strat tones to hard rock tones courtesy of the Lace Sensor pickups which offered hum free performance. As this was the top of the range model, it comes with blue, gold and dual red Lace Sensors; a three way toggle switch allowing a choice of the dual red sensors to be selected alongside the traditional five-way blade switch. As its an earlier model in the Ultra series, it also sports a Wilkinson roller nut, rather than the later LSR nut.
The colour of this particular instrument is very rare; ‘Firestorm Red’ being unlisted in Fender’s catalogues of the time, but was produced on about 200 instruments – Teles, Strat Pluses and Strat Ultras. This was a special paint finish involving the use of aluminium foil. Legend has it that only one man at Fender did all of these, but when he left they stopped making them. This is also the actual Strat Ultra featured on the Xhefri Guitars website http://xhefriguitars.com/page4.html . I currently have the trem blocked off and no longer have the trem bar. However, these are easily available online.
Also included in the sale is a Postal Monkey hard case, which is in good working order, and the original Fender Lace Sensors which came with the instrument when new. No other case candy or hang tags are included.
If you have any questions relating to the guitar, please feel free to contact me.
I am also not interested in trades of any kind.
