I can sing while drumming in odd time sigs. I can sing while playing guitar. Both just came naturally to me. But singing and playing bass is mysteriously much harder.

It can help to start with an extremely simplified bass line under your vocal, and work up from there.
I've seen Bryan Adams do it. I saw him at Wembley Arena (maybe early 2000s) and he had stripped it right back, so it was just Keith Scott on guitar, him on bass, and a drummer. He just played a white P Bass all night. Got a girl up out of the audience for the Mel C duet - which was quite entertaining.
I've tried it once or twice. It's not easy at all. These days if I'm singing I'll play guitar. If there is no bass, I'll just let the KB player cover it with their left hand.
But bass and singing is much harder. I think it is because the guitar part is usually closer in feel to the vocal and the bass is often quite removed from it.
Root only / match the guitar stuff is quite easy - but proper bass lines and walking is a nightmare.
If I wanted to go back to singing properly then I'd have to swap to guitar I think.

Tried doing Red house, with the typical blues bass riff and that was a nightmare!! I think knowing both parts 100% is the key - you just cannot think at all.

And I hate to say this since I can't stand his voice, but Glenn Hughes.

It's easier if you use a pick IMO
I've done it, but it ain't easy!
