    You're doing it again.
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.
Also chips are "Plant-based" no matter how you cook them.

No man, I meant it. Take care. Don't go anywhere silly like that cycling couple.

    Bye!

Why is this so bloody difficult ?? (/1st world problem!)

I just want some sun.  I don't want to get the shits of death or have my head hacked off by some maniacs screaming 'Allahu Akbar!' (though the latter would probably induce the former).

Go to a quieter bit of Lanzarote or Fuerteventura

I'd say Playa Blanca is quiet enough

tenerife is warmer though, but some of it is a bit over-developed and cheesy

Seriously - Abu Dhabi or Muscat.

AD is *precisely* a load of beaches surrounded by skyscrapers. It's also one of the safest cities in the world.

Muscat is a bit more "real" feeling - not so modern and skyscraper-y and a lot more chilled out. Omanis are some of the best people on the planet and all their taxi drivers are hilarious. Slightly terrifying, but hilarious.

You definitely won't get squits or mugged or blown up in either :)

Well, I found a good deal in the town where Mrs Fab used to live in Andalucia, and it's flying from Cardiff too, so we've abandoned the long-haul mega-holiday idea for the moment.  I'll revisit this later in the year when the weather is warmer everywhere and there are more options.

What about Turkey ? But not on Christmas Day
I don't know about the rest of it but Istanbul is FUCKING FREEZING in January.
Well yeah I can't say Istanbul would be the best option in January but I can suggest Antalya. Weather is nice, there are nice beaches and forests, also if you are into climbing Olimpos is a MUST. Besides I can say it's relatively cheaper than Istanbul. Nightlife never dies and people are cool. We came here 5 years ago with my wife and decided to buy villa in Antalya considering real estate prices in Antalya are really freakin' reasonable. So we don't even want to leave the place now D

Funnily enough, I was wondering why TUI flights to Cancun are taking 11h+ when I've been there before somewhat quicker.  I looked at their routing and it's all down the eastern US coast rather than the far more direct route across the water.  This would make sense if they are prone to engine trouble.
i assume TUI are trying to disprove flat earth theorists ?
