"Lowden Guitars and Ed Sheeran have announced a collaboration on a new brand of acoustic guitars, simply called “Sheeran”."

Be very interested to try these out.  I love the Lowden range, especially the Wee Lowden, but the price is a little steep for some of us.

Regardless of differing thoughts on his music, this has to be a good thing for the market, as long as the quality is maintained

  • Ok, NOW I'm jealous...  A genius business move.  You couldn't want for a better ambassador to change your customer demographic!  Very shrewd. Cool for Ed too, how much fun would that be?

  • Very nice looking. I wouldn't be bothered about who it is associated with.

    Looks great.

Impressive for Lowden to get him playing their stuff after so long on Martins.

  • If the guitar is priced as suggested by the article (£600), they'll have no shortage of takers but I just can't see how Lowden can make an instrument at that price.

If it's around that price, I'll pick one up myself though.

  • Looks like solid top, laminate back & sides throughout the line.

If it does come in around the £600 mark, I'm having one.

The S Series looks good to me. Needs electrics though.

All the guitars have electrics aside from the base model (the Cedar/Walnut x01 model)

Nothing to say they are being made in Lowden regular workshop - could these be being built elsewhere I wonder?

Hmmm. I had to hunt in the tech data to find this. You'd think they'd put 'electro acoustic' in the main info especially given that it's an LR Baggs Element VTC which is not exactly a budget addition. There are arguably better systems out there but flaunting that spec would surely add to the appeal.

  • Was hoping the Cedar/Walnut would have the electro option.  Maybe a K&K is the solution there.

Great, I've been looking for an acoustic to go with my Avril Lavigne Telecaster.

Hearing they're going to be built in Ireland still but as you say, not in the regular Lowden workshop, so either they're expanding or these are being contracted out to someone else... this is second-hand info though, will update if I also get updated...

The article says designed and built in Ireland.
Another artist endorsed mid range laminate guitar. Blah blah.

March/April for the first ones apparently ..

  • Street Prices are out and the models for the Wee start at £595 and the S at £700.

No idea what quality will be like but for an Irish built instrument that is an incredible deal.

he's been using the Wee Lowden by preference for years (all through his Martin endorsement period)
    Red ones are better.

Will be a big competitor to the Taylor GS mini. Curious to hear how this sounds.
