My band, The Maitlands, supported Fontains DC in a library in Coventry this weekend. It's just been described as one of those "'seminal' gigs on Radio 6. Not sure they were talking about us but we had a good time non the less and I got to give my new neck a run out.

Another one from Henry's Cellar Bar, last weekend - slightly more colour this time and I'm wearing my Bass Player Shirt :).

Not sure where the underwear on the mic stand came from!

For no reason other than your wisdom I had you pictured with a beard and glasses, like Mike McShane, with a pencil behind your ear and an apron!

Quite a cool shot of us from last weekend. Always nice to play a proper stage, with someone else at the faders.

Back to humping the PA around and mixing us myself via an iPad next weekend :(

  • This is the last photo of the band I actually semi like. I'm fatting around on the left. The other guys look sexy. I look like an idiot.

    Bye!

You don't look like an idiot... but your bassist looks like John Malkovitch and your drummer looks like Robert Carlyle as Begbie, without the moustache.

    :)

OK, I found this one from a post Guitar show jam in Birmingham a few years ago. This is @Alnico, me and @not_the_dj comparing blonde Teles. Unfortunately there weren't enough amps to go around so Col ended up miming!

Gig at the weekend, was like playing in a greenhouse - it was gig #3 of 4 of the weekend and I don't think I have ever sweat so much...

Dep Drummer for this gig was the guy from Welsh 90's band Catatonia (Cerys Matthews - Road Rage, Mulder Scully etc etc)

This photo is a few years old and I've probably posted it on here before anyway; however I have been prompted by a recent interview with John ( the photographer) on Radio 6 and an exhibition of his work at the Coventry Music Museum until the end of August.
I would be reasonably surprised if my old band gets in there among his photos of The Specials, The Selecter, etc, but it's a (very minor) claim to fame that I was once looked at down the same lens.
