What's Hot
HippoPeteHippoPete Frets: 121
I'm sure this has been asked a million times but doing a charity gig with some friends in a months time so interested in any suggestions for quick and dirty 3 chord thrashes that can be rehearsed up quickly.

Older audience (50s etc) so stuff already on the list includes, Mony.Mony, Dakota, She Sells Sanctuary, Get It On, Hi Ho Silver Lining and yes, Mustang f*cking Sally!

All the best,
Pete

Does it have to be three chords, or just easy? Older audiences will recognise things like
    Wishing Well - Free (6),
Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac (4),
    Let’s Stick Together - Rory Music (3),
    Faith (5),
20th Century Boy or anything else by Marc Bolan is usually 3 chords,
    I’m A Believer (4, or 5 if you use D7).
If you’ve go someone who can play simple riffs then Get Back - Beatles.
If the bass player is reasonable then Substitute - The Who (4).

Its also worth looking at the song sheets which were prepared for some of the forum jam sessions

Thanks for suggestion all, helpful and perhaps mischievous too. Although I'd definitely prefer playing the birds song to some of those suggested by the guys in the band.

And it was perceptive of you Roland, yes, easy songs rather than limited to just three chords and I will take a gander at the jam session lists. I'm a believer and 20th Century Boy are in the list already.

    Cheers, All,
