Very Tentative bump on this, not particularly looking to sell but the possibility is here if someone wants to discuss it.

Second only to pre war Martins this D28 was made in January 1964 and predates the move to the new factory. As a result this D28 has the same spec as most D28s thoughout the fifties. It’s in fantastic condition cosmetically (bar the the wear on back of neck and buckle rash on back of the body) and more importantly structurally. The bridge/saddle have been changed as has the nut I believe as well as a washer on one of the tuning pegs. All else original.

comes with a hiscox hard case.

£6500

That is awesome. Have just started down the path of vintage acoustics and that is one of the big names right there

You're not wrong... it's not been an easy decision. Seen lots of great offers so far and some really cool guitars out there it has to be said. Going to take something special though.

Wow. Very relevant to my interests, but beyond my means.

Do you fancy bringing it to the Acoustic-Day-Geekout in Swindon?
    Red ones are better.

Fabulous guitar... and it's a birth year for me.  Do you need a kidney (or is there anything special that you're looking for?)

@Andy_Strings thanks mate it is a beauty. I’m sorted for kidneys at the moment so pretty much the asking price on this :)  I would consider taking a guitar in px if it helps but would only be to sell on unless it’s a J200

No J200, just a 1969 J50 - I've just looked again... January 64, that's birth too.  I didn't realise you could work out production month as well.  I've got a few nice bits up for sale, let's see what happens.

I have to admit I am now scrambling to find the site where I got the January info from, sure I will find it but stumped at the moment. The last serial in 63 was 193327 mine is 193560 with an average of 524 guitars made per month in 64 it ties in with likely January production but my info was far less sketchy. I will do some more digging and make sure I can back my statement up lol.

The J50 sounds nice I would certainly be happy to consider that as a makeweight, drop me a pm if you reach a point where you think we could agree a deal.

@earwighoney Thanks, and it’s appearance is it’s least remarkable feature when you play and hear it
