Most accepted travel money card USA

Off to the US of A in a couple of weeks, what would you recommended re travel money card, i recall going to Canada about 10 yrs ago and getting one through a travel agent and it wasnt accepted at quite a few places so was a bit of a mare. 

Any suggestions? Ive heard Travelex are good.

    Might be a bit late now but I use my Halifax credit card. No fees for spending or withdrawing cash abroad and good exchange rates.
    Just pay it off in full when i get home.

    Me too.  If you still have a coupe of weeks it should be OK - apply online, they'll give you the nod within 5 minutes, you'll have the card within a week.

    If you follow @EricTheWeary 's advice and go via MSE, they'll tell you the likelihood of getting it before you even apply.

    *edit*  They will run a credit check on you, of course.
