So much butthurt over a misunderstanding
    get over yourself.

Sort it out with her face to face, and save us from this tedium.  Reporting her to Offstead because of a misunderstanding says more about you than her.

and yes, before you ask, I have kids....and a grandchild on the way.
Alright, but how many guitars do yaz own?!

Try as hard as you like to spin it as a blue light safeguarding emergency justifying this apoplectic nonsense. Doesn't wash with me.,
Come on now, no one's going apoplectic, let's all just calm down

Honest question - is this the first time she’s caused concern, or is there a history?

There are different viewpoints over childminding and when the child trundles back.  For example; our old childminder lived on our street, and when my wife or I got home from work we would pop straight round and get the kids, even if it was quite early.  Conversely, one of her other customers lived just over the road and would frequently arrive home early, but not pick up his daughter until the time was up.  If I saw her out with the kids, I would certainly wander over to say hello; blanking them because the ‘time wasn’t up’ and it would be awkward genuinely wouldn’t cross my mind.

There’s no right or wrong here - after all, she’s being paid to do a job.  From a different perspective, it’s entirely possible that she mistakenly assumed you’d like your daughter back a bit early as you’d obviously finished your appointment, and sent her across under observation with a miniature escort.  A poor way to do it admittedly, but not necessarily malicious.

If there’s a history of worrying behaviour then that’s another thing.  Reporting her to Ofsted on the back of one zero-impact incident is a bit OTT though.

There is right or wrong here she took responsibility of the child until 6 and not only flaked on it but advocated the responsibility to an 8 year old. Not good enough.

Who exactly are you talking to here? I didn't actually make any of the comments that seem to have made you so angry. They're from various people.

I am sorry that you found it tedious though. I often wish that like you, I could also compose topics such as

'So warm, the pedals dropped off the Velcro'.

I've been on the edge of my seat ever since June 28th, please you have to tell me; have you ordered a higher quality velcro yet?

As I mentioned in that post, cheap and expensive Velcro failed equally.  That’s useful consumer info. Your opinion of your babysitter is even less interesting than my adventures with Velcro.

I have a phone on me at all times, two in fact, work and personal. In your shoes, I would just have called her, and sorted it out on the spot. Job done.

The reason my posts are less ‘interesting’ than yours is because I don’t need a bunch of strangers on a guitar forum to validate my overreactions to personal situations.

I think it's up to the individual client, as to what they expect from a childminder. If they are a bad fit for what you expect, you need to find another. There's no right or wrong, it's what you're comfortable with. It is your child, after all. So there is no opinion more valid than your own. I would go with your gut reaction.

    My feedback thread is here.

Well I do need that as I'm autistic and struggle with things like this. Everyone is different.
Many people would be able to just call straight away and know what to say and the tone to speak in. I'm less aware of what is and isn't 'socially acceptable' so I needed unbiased opinions from those people before I tried to deal with the unfamiliar situation before me.
