Well a lot of people asked for this so...... here it is

Heavy water is a creation designed to meet the requests we were receiving to release the Boost side of the DANE as a standalone pedal. So not one to disappoint, we went ahead and did just that….but in typical Thorpy fashion it went one step further. Therefore, HEAVY WATER has two sides in one of the smaller sized enclosures – the same high headroom super clean boost from the DANE pedal on the right. On the left we tweaked the boost to provide more volume but with a grittier/dirtier character from the Germanium diodes lurking within. The pedal is designed so that each side can be used independently but they can also be combined to absolutely smash the front end of a valve amp into submission. Subtle, heavy or mental the options within the two sides will astonish

And yet another gain/distortion/overdrive thing. Give me strength. Love Thorpy pedals, but this is getting a bit same old, same old for me. Waiting for Adrian’s take on a delay pedal. Looks like i’lll be waiting a while longer.

EDIT - a few have taken my comment above, and in various measures cast me to the Outer Moons of Jupiter, or placed me on a pedestal for my erstwhile comic genius. I must add for the record, that I cast no aspersion upon the quality or any other aspect of Thorpy's pedals. They are great works of art and tone. Long may that remain.

Ooh sexy. This is right up my street. Would love to try it out.

While you're here do you have an underling you can persuade to stick all your pedals up on www.pedalplayground.com?

Too much time away from home, and too little progress with the guitar. Frustrating doesn't cover it. When i am home, theres all the other stuff life throws at you, and even less playing time. First world priblems. Problems, even. Maybe i need go lie down in a dark room fir a while. At least until this project I'm working on is over.

PS - if Adrian's reading this, no offence, buddy. You just keep on making the world's greatest guitar pedals. :)

I'm really sorry to disappoint you, I realise that I have failed to meet your expectations. How do you suggest i run my company better?

If it helps ill try and explain a little bit of what goes on here:

I released a tremolo a few years ago, its been discontinued because it didn't sell as well as i hoped. We've released an all analogue chorus that nails vintage and modern sounds from the same box, including Leslie sounds. This was released in February 2019 which took years to develop and get right...

As of April 2019 we have been trading for 4 years. for 3 of those years I was still in the Army doing a full time job with significant responsibility. I ran my company at night mainly.

In the 4 years since trading I have released 12 circuits which is an average of 3 a year, last year I also redesigned all of the pedals to fit into smaller enclosures. It is also worth bearing in mind every single one of my pedals is either a new circuit or a significant modification on a classic circuit - this takes a lot of time and R&D on top of everyday building. its fun though so worth it.

FWIW I'm currently rolling through the development stages of several different modulation pedals and a delay but to get these right for release is taking a lot of time, care and attention. I will get there but ThorpyFx has only 2 full-time members and 4 part time employees.

With a maximum of 2-3 releases a year, it will naturally take time to get through the gamut of pedal types out there but...... here's what we currently offer:

    Compression- Fat General
EQ with Buffer and Boost- Team medic
    Light gain overdrive- Peacekeeper
M**FF style fuzz (with much more going on ) -Fallout Cloud
M*****l in a box British style Mid OD - Gunshot
    American style distortion- Warthog
Vintage FF and Treble Boost in one - Veteran
Analog Chorus -all new - Deep Oggin
DP signature pedal - The Dane
Double Booster (clean and gritty) - Heavy Water

    Veteran Germanium- ltd run
    Chain Home -Tremelo (discontinued)

SO I guess what I'm saying is, we are not BOSS or any of the other multinational companies. I don't have an army of product engineers, marketers, social media managers, sales guys, or tea makers. ThorpyFx is my baby, i work bloody hard at it and todays release was in response to LOADS of emails messages etc from people asking me to do this pedal...... so i did because it pleased me to do so.

    P.s.

Im actually releasing another pedal this year too....... what todays TPS if you want to know what it is going to be..... oh and its not dirt.

    @ThorpyFX ;

You know full well I am an avid user of your pedals, and have high praise for them. It's not a criticism of your pedals, or your quality, or your brand. I hold each of those in very high esteem for your pedals. As do many others.

I think I should review my comment.

I'll go lie down in that dark room, now.

I will finally get my dickbeaters on two thorpys with the tourbox, but what I really love already is the military naming!

    Heavy water being the latest!

Not sure what a Deep Oggin is though?

I know, hence the thinly veiled sarcasm at the top of my post........  ;) but it did enable me to explain why stuff moves a little slower so thank you.
