Think Courtney Love did on Hole's 'Live Through This'.
Also the guy from Brand New, Jesse Lacey I think?
Have we had Thom Yorke? OK Computer era it was his main guitar, 'Airbag' and 'Lucky' it's particularly recognisable. Ed O'Brien definitely has too but he's played loads of different guitars!
Both Aaron and Bryce Dessner from The National - Bryce mainly uses a '64 Jag while Aaron has a '50s-style Jazzmaster with anodised plate. They're into vintage guitars enough that it might be a real '58 or '59.
Mike Vennart from Oceansize/Vennart. I think it was a CIJ from my memory of an interview with him. He's a lefty which probably makes it tougher to get a USA one His first album uses a lot of it on the clean sounds - he switches to it halfway through 'Infatuate' for the outro when I saw him live.
The guy from the Distillers. He had a humbucker in the bridge.

    Both Raveonettes

    Magic Slim

    Pop Staples

    Oleg from Messer Chups
I just came on here to post Magic Slim so you've beaten me to it.

Nokie Edwards did at times although his signature guitars have been Mosrites and telecasters. He's someone we tend to over look a bit here but a huge influence on many American guitarists and pretty much the original big in Japan artist.

Edit: and bonus point for mention of Messer Chups. I can never remember the name of that track where he kicks his reverb unit, I'll have to dig that out.

  • Is it perhaps Magneto? I think he sort of keeps his foot on it while playing then gives it a good tap.

@EricTheWeary I love that your auto-correct has changed "Nokie" to "Nokia" - sign of the times!  :)

Didn’t he play that great intro to Watching The Detectives on a Jazzmaster? He certainly did when I saw him touring with the Attractions years ago.

When I saw him on the Stiff Records tour back in the 1970s he used a Jazzmaster for the whole set.
