Depending on how much they are you could probably have one made to your specs for similar money
That is exacitilly what I'm thinking  ;)

Neck is glued in and wiped as much glue off as possible, it's hot hide glue so water cleans it easily, I'll have a bit to do tomorrow but not much

This ones nearly ready it's been faded and without any sunshine, it's why there's not much around the switch and pickguard, it went really quick, it's got nice checking and needs a bit more back fading etc, another few weeks should be together and I've got some nice mojo oop reverse wound pafs for it

Stunning.  What do you mean by 'fading without any sunshine', if you don't mind me asking?  Although if its a trade secret....
    No Darling....I've had that ages.

I use aniline dies that fade naturally but normally i fade them in the sun to start them and they'll continue naturally like the old ones

I did this burst slightly different and I'm even surprised at how fast it faded without really exposing it to uv, i do normally take a good few months to get them subtly aged etc because it takes time to get nice realistic checking with a shiny textured look

Thanks, that's interesting.  I wondered if you might use an old tanning bed for intense UV exposure.

If ever there was a reason to build a vintage style carved top guitar this is it, one piece maple is just stunning to look at

That's a truly special guitar - do you have a price list for something of that identical spec/quality ?
