Hello all..

After the last few years of dealing with some personal issues, I have decided to sell my old stock of guitars off at not much more than cost price but only to Fretboard members..  Each will include a case of some kind (most are padded gig bags)..  If you are in or around the M25 area I will happily come and deliver it myself to make sure you like what you are buying or we can organise delivery between ourselves.

I am moving in to a new phase of building if you like, one of the reasons being that I have been doing some part time work for a timber supplier and we have some of the most amazing looking wood I have ever seen to the point where its inspiring me to do new things,  and also its to start this new phase with a clean slate as it were. All of these guitars we the ones I have been showing at guitar fairs which is another reason they are going at this price.

While I will say that cosmetically my guitars aren't super shiny (nearly always use a natural oil finish) I certainly stand behind the playability and sound of each and every guitar I make and sell (or I wouldn't sell it)… Some of these guitars are some of my early work too but I will be totally honest about each guitar and what you are getting.

I will start with two of my favourites..

This is my Half and Half Double Cut. As you can see its a fairly unique build in the way its made from two different woods all neck and body..  This guitar also comes with Gibson Mini Humbuckers which sound amazing.. You get that real bite with them, but I will post a demo as well as a build video so you can see and hear for yourself.

While I am not claiming that its built any differently to any other two piece body, I have still yet never seen another quite like it.

24.75 " scale length
12" fretboard radius
Gibson Mini Humbuckers
CTS pots and PIO caps with Switchcraft jack and switch
Half ash, half African Mahogany
Schaller Tuners
Tru Oil finish
Neck is quite fat, don't have the specs but the nut width is 43mm and goes to 57mm the other end.

£450   SOLD

    SOLD

And here is the second one..

    24.75 " scale length
    12" fretboard radius
    Gibson P90s
CTS pots and PIO caps with Switchcraft jack and switch
Iroko back and neck (I used to think it was something else but found out later)
    Flamed maple stop
    Schaller Tuners
    Tru Oil finish

What you do have to know about this guitar is that the colour has chaged over the last few years.. So it now has a more aqua marine type colour which i think was the amber tint in the tru oil which must have mixed with the stain. And if you are wondering, the white strip under the binding is the natural maple.

    Used to look like this

Now more like this (hard to take a picture of)

    £400  SOLD
Comes with a hybrid hard/soft case but to be honest they dont hold the guitar that well so if you want that case it will need to be padded out a bit so the guitar doesnt move or i can send it in a nice padded gig bag instead.

Thanks....  And yes, I totally stand by each of these instruments.. But its time to move on to even better things  :)  So I would love to find some good homes for these.. I have a few more to come yet. Some will be even cheaper than this but they really are quite bare bones guitars and some of my earliest builds.. You will soon see..  Maybe  ;)

Yes... I would say medium to slim (kind of depends on what you like or maybe the size of your hands  :) ) I like slim necks and quite comfortable on that guitar..

I should have also mentioned that the blue one is chambered to keep the weight down..  Still a good 7lbs though (I don't have very accurate scales here but can find out if anyone is interested.

Man if that second one is still around in a week and a half I might have to give it a go when I'm in London.

Ok so next up is this single cut LPish guitar... Of all of mine this is probably my favourite to play as it has a lovely slim neck just to my liking.. Also and I am not sure why, but the pickups on this guitar do that weird out of phase thing but is wired in the normal way.. If you put the pickup selector in the middle and roll back the volume on the neck the sound totally changes.. You will hear that in the demo.

    24.75" scale length
    12" fretboard radius
AxesRus Humbucker sized P90s (that sound amazing)
CTS pots and switchcraft switch and jack, PIO caps
    Ebony fretboard
    Schaller tuners
    South American Mahogany body
    African Mahogany top
    African Mahogany neck

Again I have this one in one of those hybrid soft/hard cases but its not great unless you pad it out a bit. But I can give you a nice padded gig bag instead.

Build video with demo at the end.. I know the two vids show different pickups.. Its because I got confused as I used some identicle vanson ones for another build I was doing at the same time and got mixed up... To be honest both makes sound great but I am sure these are the AxesRus ones.

Love the build progress pics - you don’t get to see the guitar being built as part of a FS ad very often.

And the woods in the blue DC look stunning.

But those prices are scary cheap for all the work that you’ve put into them.

GLWTS - you deserve to have your hands ripped off!

Thanks Tony..  But as you well know.. Compared to the woods that I now have available to me it will make these guitars look almost boring  :D

If they were all brand new and perfect I would want more.. And not saying they are beat up or anything because they are not but they have been my show guitars for several years now so I just feel its time to move on and the prices reflect that.. Some of them are some of my earliest builds too. And while again I totally stand behind their playability and sound, they aren't perfect guitars in the same way as when you buy some new and shiny thing in a shop.. I have been told my guitars feel like they are already worn in if you see what I mean. Its all about the wood for me...

One of the reasons I started all of this was because I want to help provide people with really nice guitars for a good price.. So I am happy in that way to let them go for these prices if they are going to people who will enjoy them which is why I am offering them for these prices on here only  :)

Dude, you're selling yourself way too short. They're amazing builds. No offence to the other two, but that second one is crying out to be snapped up!

Thanks for that.. But I have always been very open and honest about what it cost me to do this..

Most of the wood I got really cheap.. I found a local joinery company close to where I live who had massive offcuts.. They would literally give me a car load for a tenner  :)  I work (or did) out of my parents garage so no workshop costs and the hardware I use is decent medium to even low priced stuff to help keep costs down.. Fretboards cost me more than most of the bodies and neck wood I use..

So for instance you can get a hardtail fender like bridge.. You can pay £60-£80 for a schaller one (which I admit are really nice looking) or you could buy a Fender one OR you could buy a perfectly good one made solidly for about £15-£20 if you avoid the names.. Vanson pickups are really amazing and are like £40 a set.. Really they are so good..

And for instance, the P90 pickups on the Blue DC were second hand.. I simply got some new covers on them and they were like half the price of new ones.

But try convincing people of that  :D   When I do guitar shows I seem to spend half my time explaining why they are the price they are and all  I am trying to do here is show that you don't need to pay the most expensive prices just for a name when I can build you something much cheaper which will be just as good if not, dare I say it, better.

Electronics I don't cheap out on.. Its CTS and Switchcraft all the way for me. And I have a thing for PIO caps.. I think they give a slightly warmer sound.. But that's a personal thing.

However.. As mentioned earlier in the thread.. I am currently doing some part time work at a timber suppliers.. And these are some examples of what I am going to have to work with next  :D

Spalted Beech (and this is sold before anyone asks  :) )

    Here is another..

Its what I call my Dark Half n Half.. Its made from Utile (African Mahogany) but one side shows the straight grain and the other side the patterned grain and also goes all the way up the neck.

    24.75" scale length
    12" fretboard radius
Vanson Humbucker sized P90s (that sound amazing)
CTS pots and switchcraft switch and jack, PIO caps
    Ebony fretboard
    Schaller tuners
    Padded gig bag
    Medium sized neck

Can you spot a theme with my guitar specs here :)  They may all look very different but I love my Gibsons so most of my builds are based on this sort of spec..
