I like it a lot. Never really bonded with the El Capistan I had before but have found the Volante really easy to get sounding how I want and fun to use.

It is simpler to use than a Timeline/Timefactor, but neither of those were particularly difficult.

I find the strymon big box pedals really easy to understand and use thats encouraging!

anyone using a midi controller to manage presets in it? if so what?

@razorblade_beat it's a pretty weird looking pedal but it's actually fairly straight forward to get around once you spend some time with it

Is it really like a el cap but with all the secondary functions present and added parameters? I always loved the el cap..

I have a Cap. Sounds not a million miles away - perhaps cleaner repeats. Agree - having someone do something musical with it (such as John) is a delight.

El Cap dirties up more and quicker, especially on very long repeat cycles.
Otherwise they are pretty similar.

I have a Timeline, but if I had the money I would pair a Volante with it. Magnificent pedal.

I'm considering a Volante. I just find it a bit off putting that there isn't much control over tone. It sounds lovely, I just felt they could have added some secondary filter functions. The wear control doesn't seem to darken the repeats as much as I thought it would.

It gets incredibly dark actually. You only need two knobs to get a whole variety of tones.
