EDIT - I see ICBM got in before me!
Noise, randomness, ballistic uncertainty.
The one piece body is a cool feature.
I reckon £1500 is a reasonable price to pay - though I agree anymore is probably too high.
I'm not really sure it matters that he didn't like it; I strongly associate that guitar with an iconic band at the height of their fame.
I believe he went on to buy a late '50s Les Paul, before switching over to Strat-style guitars.
The fact remains; on most classic 'Lizzy tracks, he played a Les Paul Deluxe.
He didn't like it but he made the guitar part of the Lizzy sound and you have to respect him for that.
There is a you tube clip of a guy (Top Hat Guitars?) playing a deluxe. He starts off playing Thin Lizzy and it is unmistakable. It is that sound.
Be warned that pickups set to 10 on guitar will be noisy and squealy unless potted. Easiest fix is to roll down to 8ish.
