  • "The Machine" are heavily blues influenced. I suppose a bit stoner-y rock, some crazy awesome guitar tho. Jimi on steroids  :)

This is one of the reasons I got into country and modern country. Port Saint Joe by Brothers Osborne has some amazing guitar playing on it and some of the best tones I’ve heard in years.

Page 4 and still no mention of Little Feat?

Early Dr. John, when he played guitar more than keys.
    Be seeing you.

Simon McBride is just an incredible guitarist with some great music.

Henrik Fresichlader is one of my most favourite modern guitarists.

I’ve been really enjoying Eric Steckel recently - for some much heavier blues playing.

i also really, really like Lee Roy Parnell. He’s known as a country artist, but most of his more recent albums are very bluesy. Absolutely perfect Les Paul at lower gain through a Marshall tones imo.

Robert Cray is the greatest living blues guitarist in my opinion and is still knocking out fantastic albums. I saw him live last year and he was just jaw droppingly good.

unlike the OP, I really love bonamassa. He’s probably my favourite blues artist today.

Indeed. Great songs that tell a story rather than the usual ‘Woke up this morning’ stuff. Never overplays (plays more fills than solos), tasteful licks that serve the song, and a very very tight band.

I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

I was looking at some of my CD collection today and thought the same - so top marks for the suggestions and I might play a couple of albums today/Sunday as well

I nearly said Little Feat but the chances of Lewy not being well aware are slim.

    Ditto Tedeschi Trucks band
    Red ones are better.

Haha, yep was really only looking for new stuff out there - all the trad blues and older acts and anything involving slide I’m pretty much all over :)

Still, useful for anyone who may not be and is watching with interest.

Harmonica player/singer in my band has the same harp amp they use. It's very nice but I can never remember the name of the bloody thing.
