First concert - Led Zeppelin, Earls Court 75.

Last concert - Australian Pink Floyd Show.

Best concert - Roger Waters, The Wall Tour, Wembley.

Loudest concert - Black Sabbath, Hammersmith, front row tickets (not a good idea)

Worst concert - Stevie Salas, what a tosser, almost walked out.

Seen the most - Jethro Tull.

    Most fun - Alice Cooper.

Most surprising - Conny Bloom at The Water Rats, brilliant showman.

Next concert - Nothing planned as yet.

Wish I had seen - Pink Floyd (Roger Waters era). The sad thing is, I had a couple of chances over the years but didn't bother going.

Craziest concert - Knebworth 76, not so much the concert but an incident. While we were waiting for The Stones to come out, a streaker climbed up onto the stage (which was really high) and started masturbating before diving off again into the crowd. He got a bigger cheer than Lynyrd Skynyrd after playing Free Bird.

Seen the most - And So I Watch You From Afar

Most fun concert - Boredoms performing Boadrum at ATP 2009 - seven drummers, one of whom was carried in on a platform, and the lead singer with a totem pole featuring seven guitar necks each tuned to a different chord, hitting them with a stick. Incredible. Watched it twice.

Most Surprising concert  - Mariachi El Bronx - basically punk band The Bronx playing genuine authentic mariachi music which was wonderful.

Next concert - not sure, maybe Oh Sees in May

Wish I had seen - Caspian at the ArcTanGent festival last year, or the year before in Bristol, or Rage Against the Machine when they played Reading.

    Last concert- Walter trout 2019

Best concert - AC/DC Back in Black tour

    Loudest concert - Saxon

Worst concert - Santana at the Hammersmoth Odeon - Acoustics were appalling

Seen the most - one of Eric Clapton or Roy Harper

Most fun concert - Kiss - for the pyrotechnics and blood!

  • First concert - Lou Reed at The Rainbow, touring Transformer. He was poor, but the support band were then unknown-at-the-time-in-the-UK Golden Earring, and they were excellent.

Last concert - Mostly Autumn at The 1865 last month.

Best Concert - too many, really but King Crimson at Hammersmith Palais (the Belew-fronted quartet) would be one, Radiohead at The O2 touring King Of Limbs would be another. Oh, and Bowie doing the Thin White Duke tour at Olympia (I think).

Loudest concert - Deep Purple at Gaumont State, Kilburn, touring Burn.

Worst concert - Glass Spider touring Bowie at Milton Keynes Bowl. Just didn't connect. Possibly because (in context) it was also the final performance of The Beat.

Most fun - too hard to pick just one. I've been lucky.

Most surprising - Magma at The Astoria, Victoria touring Mekanik Destruktiv Kommandoh. Went at the behest of a mate, had no idea what I was in for. Loved it! Or maybe The Undercover Hippy at The Dart Music Festival last year. As above...

Most seen - probably Richard Thompson.

    Next concert - Ben Otwell

Wish I'd seen - Fragile-era Yes. Didn't get to see them until 1975 at QPR.

Craziest concert - The Tubes at Hammersmith Odeon. Deffo!

First concert - Marillion in a student union bar, pre-record deal.

Last concert - Steve Hackett playing one of my fave ever albums (Genesis, Selling England by the pound)

Best concert - Pendragon in a pub! And also their 40th anniversary concert.

Worst concert - Not seen any I didn't like to be honest

Seen the most - Not sure. Marillion (Fish era), Pendragon or Dream Theater

Most fun concert - It was a weird one. College days around 82, we bought cheap tickets to see King after they looked fun on 'the Tube'. Next thing their Love & Pride single was a massive success and everyone wanted to go. The joint was heaving with students and the atmosphere was amazing.

Most Surprising concert - I've never been surprised

Next concert - Francis Dunnery doing another fave album of mine (It bites, Once around the world)

Wish I had seen - Queen, Grand Funk Railroad, Pink Floyd

Craziest concert - Not seen a concert that I'd describe as crazy.

    First concert - Brinsley Schwarz

    Last concert- Tedeschi Trucks.

Best concert - Pink Floyd DSOTM tour

Loudest concert - probably Deep Purple - ears rang for days afterwards

Worst concert - Steve Hackett - sound levels all over the place plus suspect that singer couldn't hear himself. Although I'd nominate Chicks on Speed (supporting RHCP) as the most dire talentless waste of oxygen I've seen.

Seen the most - Eric Clapton

Most fun concert - John Otway

Most Surprising concert  - Tom Jones - really wasn't bothered about seeing him but he knows how to put on a show, work the audience, etc.

    Next concert - Keith Urban

Wish I had seen - Stones, Mark Knopfler.

Craziest concert - probably John Otway.

    Seen the most - Slayer

Most fun concert - The Offspring. They were supporting AC/DC and their enthusiasm was infectious.

Most surprising concert - Marilyn Manson. What a showman!

First - John Denver (when I was about 9), or JJ72 (first paid for by myself)

    Last - U2 in Mumbai

Best - Any of: Radiohead at Glastonbury 2003, Sigur Ros in Reykjavik 2017, Sigur Ros in Brixton in 2012, U2 in Mumbai, Springsteen in Hyde Park 2012, or The Killers in Hyde Park in (maybe) 2009, depending on the day

Loudest - Gaslight Anthem at Troxy in I think 2013. It was loud even with earplugs. Cracking show, mind you.

Worst - Assuming half of Live8 is out, then Oasis at Glastonbury 2004, most likely. That was certainly the most disappointing. Also Blur at Reading in maybe 2003?

Seen the most - The Killers is 6 I think, if you include Live8. I think that's the most, but several close behind on 4 or 5.

Most fun - unquestionable The Darkness, Brooklyn Steel 2018 was probably their best one.

Most surprising - Chris Cornell supporting Aerosmith, I reckon 2005 or 2006. I knew who he was but really hadn't clocked into why he's going to go down in history as one f the greatest ever singers. Absolutely spellbinding.

Next - TBC, possibly Iron Maiden in May

Wish I had seen - REM a second time. U2 on the ZooTV tour.

Craziest - Probably Razorlight in Alexandra Palace. They were great but the crowd was mostly comprised of rough fuckers who seemed to think gigs were just about getting your elbows out and beating up anyone who argued.

The Assumptions - UAE party band for all your rock & soul desires

Worst concert - Michael Schenker, Frome

Seen the most - Alter Bridge

Most fun concert - Phil X & The Drills, Camden. Rush, London 2012

Most Surprising concert  - Not sure, they each have their merits

    Next concert - Rammstein, Cardiff

Wish I had seen - Rush a few more times, only caught them twice. U2 a few more times, only ever seen them in a stadium environment. Metallica (still a chance). Iron Maiden a few more times.

Best concert - Couldn't possibly choose, maybe REM

Loudest concert - The Damned - Liverpool Royal Court. (I blame this gig for my ear problems!)

Worst concert - Meatloaf - O2 Arena - His voice was shot to bits. Almost walked out after the first song!

Seen the most - The Damned/The Jam - 3 times each

Most fun concert -  Bryan Adams - NEC

Most Surprising concert  - Spandau Ballet (I know) 1985. Superb to be fair.

Next concert - Stereophonics - Sheffield Arena Feb 28th

Wish I had seen - The Clash - big regret

Craziest concert - The Jam, 1982, twas a bloodbath, but apparently not as bad as 1979 at the same venue!

    Ignoring Classical

    First concert - Family

    Last concert- Lauryn Hill

Best concert - can't separate Tony Bennett and Kurt Rosenwinkel

    Loudest concert - Jason Pierce

Worst concert - Free (Kossoff was practically comatose throughout)

Seen the most - Van Morrison or Chick Corea, prob around 6 or 7 times each

Most fun concert - Arthur Lee or Chic

Most Surprising concert  - The Bad Plus (thought they'd finished after their excellent trio set, then as an encore a group of top notch horn players came on and together they played maybe an hour's worth of "small big band" arrangements from Ornette Coleman's Science Fiction Sessions. Unexpected and sublime).

    Next concert - Nothing booked

Wish I had seen - Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis

Craziest concert - not sure I've seen anything that qualifies as crazy, but let's say Grace Jones (woman of 70 hula hoops topless while doing a great job singing Slave to the Rhythm in front of a fantastic band)

First concert - The Damned, Newcastle City Hall, 1986.

Last concert- From the Jam, Lincoln Engine Shed, 2019.

Best concert - RHCP headlining Leeds, 1999. Only because I was massively into them at the time and I positioned myself as closest possible human being to John Frusciante.

Loudest concert - Paul Weller, Oxford Zodiac. Ear bleeding. Horrible.

Worst concert - Don't have one.

Seen the most - The Damned. Hands down. It's in the dozens.

Most fun concert - Probably a Damned one, but Gogol Bordello stick in my mind.

Most Surprising concert  - Level 42. Went against my will. Amazing night. WHAT a band.

Next concert - Trevor Nelson, Stroud. My mate's 50th birthday get together. It's a surprise.
