  • Boutique/hand-made acoustics, you are trying to convince someone else that what's right for you is right for them...

Any Tanglewood. Good value in the lower price range but just about impossible to sell on -  or even give away.

Most resonator guitars except vintage Nationals.

  • G&L make lovely guitars IMHO but can be a bit tricky to sell on sometimes.
If you can read this then my time machine works.

Anything which is in any way interesting or quirky, which is a PITA in some ways as I'm attracted mostly to interesting and/or quirky guitars.

    Godin.
Reverend - probably getting better slowly.
    Fret King
PRS SE - OK I don't like these but they do seem to sell for peanuts.
Some folks like water, some folks like wine.

There are a few that seem to have a cult following and retain their value -- Fylde springs to mind.

second hand PRS S2 are ridiculous, though not massively common. I waited over a year for a suitable Vela to come up second hand... then bought new... then 2 showed up within 3 months for half the price.

Washburn. People avoid them like the plague.

I had one of their MIK 335 style guitars and it played very well indeed but as you say, I picked up for relatively cheap. I wouldn't hesitate playing one again no matter where it was made.

Yes: anything, Fender, Gibson, Martin included, that I ended up scoring from enablers like that @DrCornelius one in notorious dogging spots round the back of truck stops across the motorway network of England.  Literally anything.

I'd be interested to see if anyone has managed to flog one of Mr Wide-neck's handcrafted gems after they've sobered up.

At least guitars hit a floor and don't drop much more, might even increase. Cars on the other hand just keep on dropping!
Yep. My Ferrari California is worth a fraction of what it cost new now....

My auntie had a Morris Marina 30 or so years ago.  Someone drove into it and the insurance company gave a write off value of £25.  I just Googled and there is one for sale at £2750.

Now might not be a bad time to buy a 20 year old car!  It might creep up in value over time.
