An associate sadly died from Corona a few weeks ago......wife has asked me to rehome their Parrot .
I don't know anything about them , any advice welcome .
If you have a Hook for a hand, Peg Leg ,eye patch and distinct West Country accent extra credibility points due.

Yes we have a Yellow head Amazon,...I suspect its either an African grey or an Amazon, either way they are very loyal to their owners ( depends how old it is, they can live up to 80) ...they don't like change and may well not eat or pull their feathers out in the absence of their regular owner....it can be very sad....Im not in the market for another, ....but what type is it anyhow/

I don't know for sure but looking at photo I think Yellow Head Amazon certainly not an African Grey or Macaw
I doubt it had much contact with the owner who was a very International Businessman so it's probably not especially attached

There are large numbers of ring neck parakeets here in West London.

Pairs of them come to the trees around the block of flats where I live looking for food.

It seems that they have managed to cope with winters and are thriving.

I wanted to get a bird feeder from B&Q, or Robert Dyas, to help the poor blighters, but then we entered a lockdown.

they studied them .......over 40 000 in London alone spreading through the home counties very successfully too
Bloody noisy things , a friend has about 200 of them living in a tree in his front garden in NWII
they have been culling them starting last year because they are damaging indigenous species

The Botanical gardens in Edgbaston used to take them I think, or maybe you have something like that near you....bear in mind they sell for £500 upwards....

Bloody parakeets are all over outer SW London. They're too green.
I read that bird experts said they weren't a problem as they haven't displaced anything native, but I can't see how that's correct.

There are several parrot rescue and rehoming charidees, I’d just contact one of them. Birdline  seem to be the big one.
You could also speak to a local vet, they may know someone who has parrots.
Tipton is a small fishing village in the borough of Sandwell.

I have a parrot, she's 21 years old now, amazing personality.

If you don't want to take it in yourself then be very weary of selling it cheap to find it a home, it will only end up with the wrong type of person.

I'd be tempted to find a rescue or similar locally

I wouldn't be considering selling at all ........it will only go to the right kind of home
