A bit of a long shot, but does anyone have a jecklin disk surplus?

Please don’t tell me to build one myself, I’m too lazy for that.

Yeah that’s the one I was looking at...just not sure I can justify spending that much.

Yeah it’s pretty specialised. Good on choirs and organs... keep an eye on eBay, they sometimes come up there.

I did a u turn in the end and decided to make my own D ....a few 12” vinyls glued together; a layer of cork + acoustic foam on either side, with a long dowel passing through the middle to hold the mics (I’m using tiny clip-on binaurals). I just need to wrap the whole thing in lambs fleece and attach a universal mic clip.

Sounds like you are following the correct principles!
If you are intending to stick close to the original research paper and intended design, you need to make sure the mic distances are roughly human ears width apart.
in terms of mics themselves, ideally you want to be using omni’s with slight high frequency lift. IIRC he designed the system with DPA 4006s in mind (would have been B+K then!) Those are v pricy but cheaper variants exist. Just using neutral omni’s can sound a bit dull (and cardiods will end up sounding somewhat congested and roll off the bass)

    good luck!
