HarrySeven - Intangible Asset Appraiser & Wrecker of Civilisation. Searching for weird guitars - so you don't have to.
Forum feedback thread. | G&B interview #1 & #2 | https://www.instagram.com/_harry_seven_/
This arrived yesterday and Im struggling to bond with it, I now realise I sold my Fender Sambora Strat cos I hate Floyd Trems! Im persevering though!
This joker comes out now n then too....
In a more serious note: is this the same guitar on The Church's singles collection?
On the purely aesthetic front, I really wasn't sure if I liked it. That is until I saw it in context being played by Annie - it seemed to make sense and looked better on a person as opposed to a blank background! Also, I love the idea of a guitar that is genuinely designed to be more comfortable for a girl - if my daughters decide to go with electrics when they get older I'll definitely make them aware of this instrument.
Avoid Applause guitars, which really aren't as good, but if you can find a US or Korean-made Ovation, give it a shot. The super-shallow body (the 1969 custom legend model, for example) is really comfortable. If it comes with a hard case, that's a plus - they're bulky but built like tanks.
I've played a couple unplugged and they sound good to me. I totally get what @Grangousier means about it being a "contained" sound, that's a good way of describing it.
My only gripe with the ones I've played has been that they were quite slippery, so they tended to slide down my leg as I played and need constant adjustment
To be honest, I abstained from voting negatively on peoples guitars, it seems a bit mean. No LOL votes from me although there are some I don't like personally.
