That's sad, I used to love her in The Avengers.

    RIP Mrs Peel.

    Such a shame

I remember watching reruns of Avengers in the 80's. She was probably the first woman I ever had a crush on.

That's unexpected, I guess I didn't really think of her as being that old.

She was indeed great in The Avengers, I found her a bit scary as she got older!

I used to work with her stepson, a long time ago.  Didn't know him very well, he was tall and very posh.

  • RIP Dame Diana Rigg.

Still the most under-rated Bond girl.

Nailed a performance in Theatre of Blood where she was clearly meant as eye-candy and yet came off as a proper psycho.

In her old-age, nailed her role in Game of Thrones.
We have to be so very careful, what we believe in...

You can catch repeats of The Avengers on ITV4 most afternoons, Tour de France permitting.

IIRC she played opposite John Cleese when he did a series of six short comedies for the Beeb, but since I'm coming down from hospital anaesthetic I may be mistaken.

  • In the new "All Creatures Great and Small" shown this week.

Very sad but we've all got finite lives and going at 82 still doing the job you love right up to the end is not the worst way.

Very sad news. Like everyone else, I loved her in the Avengers but not just as eye candy, she was witty & tough too.
In real life she was a fiercely intelligent, funny & sharp woman. RIP

I worked at the National Theatre in the early 90s and she was occupying a dressing room next to the band room. She was lovely and kind and polite. Strident and funny too.
