Just read this, and it completely shocked me. Had no idea she was ill. One of my favourite acters. She will be sadly missed.

Sad news indeed, especially at that age. Peaky Blinders is one of my favourites and will not be the same without her - not that it was the only thing she was known for, but the only thing I've seen her in (although apparently was the voice of Daemon in His Dark Materials as well, which I like a lot).

    May she rest in peace

WTF! I met her and Damian on several occasions. God - what a fucking tragedy. That’s really knocked me back.
    RIP Helen

I’d just seen this. Sad news indeed, wonderful in Peaky Blinders and I remember her as Malfoy’s mother. Loads of film, TV and theatre credits, OBE for services to drama.
    RIP.

A real shock. So young. A superb actress.

    It's not a competition.

Yep, a real shock. I had to read the announcement twice to be really sure. She was such a brilliant actress, a real favourite of mine as she bought such gravity to all the roles she played. Terribly sad news. :'(

very sad, I was just remembering a few days ago how she had managed a good accent for Peaky Blinders, unlike some others. She was very good (not just with accents), very intense when necessary

    Gutted . . . Sad day :-(
Id just like to point out that, despite all the video and DNA evidence, it genuinely wasn't me, your Honour  !

I'm from the Black Country but live in Brum, and I've always thought all the West Midlands accents in the show were excellent to be honest. There was one point where I heard a new character speak and I said to the Mrs, "Aha! They've got that one wrong as he has a Black Country accent instead not a Brummy one." Only for Tommy to refer to him as one of "the Black Country Boys" a few minutes later.

But yes, she played a brilliant role as Aunt Polly, she will be missed.

Looking at her film and TV history, I've actually seen almost nothing she was in but I knew who she was and I was quite shocked to hear she'd died at such a young age.  RIP.

I met her and worked with her on two shows at the National Theatre. She was a real breath of the freshest and funniest air available. What a sad loss to the world.  :/
