iPad holder for mic stand

rsvmarkrsvmark Frets: 1378
Joining a new band post lockdown so I need to have all my charts in front of me for the first few rehearsals and gigs until it’s all fully memorised. All songs are charted out and on 1 page so can pdf it and have it on the ipad.

Hercules are great kit but chuff me expensive. Any recommendations for an alternative?

I use a Gator Frameworks, but I also have quite an old iPad for lyrics/charts - the new (8th Gen) one doesn't fit in there.

If I needed a new one for a new iPad, I think I'd go for the IK one - it doesn't hold the iPad on all 4 sides like the Gator, but I don't think it really needs to.

... and make sure you’ve got a good mic stand to clip it to.

My experience has been similar to Gulliver's in that future generation iPads will not necessarily be exactly the same size as your first iPad. As such, buying a tablet holder that has adjustable arms will, to some extent, future-proof your purchase.

  • I have one of these, which although not used in anger yet, thanks to lockdown, seems to do the job.  I've even used it for holding a phone, by flipping one of the clamps.
