Amplitude VS xxxxxxxx

Is there a better alternative to the free version Amplitube that's also free? I like Amplitube but I don't fancy paying for the various additions as I'm purely a bedroom player of minimal skill and even less ambition.

EDIT: This is purely for playing with not recording. Wasn't sure which section to put this in.

You could try Mooer’s GE labs, sounds pretty decent, maybe not as feature rich as full AmpliTube but it’s not bad at all

I've yet to try anything free that's better tbh. I like the Nembrini amps but they're not free. But compared to the free Marshall and Fender amp on Amplitube, I think the Amplitube stuff is great in its own right. I'm a big fan. I have howver been sucked into the vacuum and started paying for things when I should really have just bought one of the upgrade packs...I now stand to lose money as it's a false economy.

The LePou amps were pretty good, but you need an IR loader as well: http://www.grebz.com/simulator_freeamp_poulin_eng.php. Amplitube occasionally do free upgrades to the standard ones. I've currently got a soldano pack and an ampeg pack, both for free. No doubt they've done more that I've missed.

I'd also say that even buying one extra amp would give you lots of tonal choices with the various cabs etc.

I've tried many of the free stand alone amps and none sound as good as amplitube to be honest
