Inspired (or perhaps demoralised) by Total Guitar/Guitar World's poll of Bestest Guitar Riffs Ever, which was composed of the usual suspects. I mean, I don't need a magazine article to tell me that Whole Lotta Love and Iron Man are kickass riffs.
So what are the mighty riffs which will
never appear on a Top Ten article?
Here's mine, for starters:
Hey Bulldog - The Beatles
Fallstaff Beer - Cream
He-Man Woman Hater - Extreme
Trouble on Double Time - Free
Brute Force and Ignorance - Rory Gallagher
Jumping Jack Flash - Johnny Winter
Ballad of Bodacious - Primus
Zooma - John Paul Jones
The Day I Tried To Live - Soundgarden
Let's Go Crazy - 3rdEyeGirl
What've you got?

And come to think of it, Gloria by Van Morrison. Both simple but brilliant and effective.
It's obviously impossible to write a bad song if you call it Gloria...
Perhaps best known as "that song off the the original Sony Minidisc advert"!
