Yeah, the first four or five King's X albums are just so great.  Heavy and powerful but no Manowar-isms whatsoever.  And the wonderful vocals, I love rock bands with multiple singers.

There's some obvious omissions I can think of, so obvious they probably belong on the other riffs list: Song 2 (surely should be near top), Freak Scene, Sabotage, No One Knows (possibly already listed, other QOTSA songs too), I Wanna Be Your Dog, Here Comes Your Man (and other Pixies songs), Teenage Riot, Kool Thing, Cherub Rock etc

I have a bit of a problem with the riff concept - not really sure when it's riffing as opposed to playing a repetitive pattern or chord sequence. It's a bit old fashioned like saying someone is being lead or rhythm guitarist - don't understand that either.

Riffs that would never, ever be listed in a list guitar magazine's list of riffs:

    Low - Witches
Slint - Washer (stretches common understanding of riffing but what the hell...)
    Codeine - Realize (ditto)
Swervedriver - Son of Mustang Ford (there's enough 'riffs' in this song for an entire album...)
    Seam - Sweet Pea (ditto)
Buffalo Tom - Velvet Roof (most definitely a riff)
Mogwai - Ceiling Granny (again most definitely rifftastic, but unlikely to be recognised as riff)
Mogwai - Mogwai Fear Satan (does a three note melody played for about 18 minutes qualify as a riff? Don't know...)
Dutch Alps - Mildspan or Fake Killer (ok you won't know these because there tunes of mine from one of the old bands, it's a cracker - that band showed a lot of decent riffing potential in it's short life span....)
...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - How Near, How Far (not sure if it's riff qualified, but a band with loads of notable guitar phrases in their back catalogue - that's a bit rubbish isn't it)

Wildhearts - nothing ever changes but the shoes. And about five hundred of their other songs.

Does good times by Chic count as a riff?
