Given I have one and know it I am not surprised.

55 seconds and 2:35 were what I immediately liked

  • 1st one sounds killer.

2 I didn't like so much but it has a bit more presence to it to my ears - I'd love to hear them in a band mix.

2 minutes 24 sounds pretty great to.

Actually, they all sounded good and usable, I guess it's down to band mix and what you want the music to sound like. Interesting number 1 was a jvm - I really liked playing one of these but never owned one.

Have you used a noise gate? If so, what is it? It's doing a very good job!

  • Nah no noise gates. Just guitar loop straight into amp!

    Bye!

  • I more or less like them all btw. But my favourites are the JVM, The Orange Rockerverb MKIII, and the Helix Revv Purple.

And no, in a blind test, I don't think anyone would spot the digital amps from the real amps.

    Bye!

  • Interestingly, I had a very quick listen yesterday and preferred number 2 to now only find out it is a VH4. I have had a VH2 and have modded my Jet City to a VH4 flavour as well, so I think I know and like the sound.

This tool-esque riffing is my ball park too, so maybe I’m used to that sort of flavour.

Thanks for posting and interesting to hear the differences.

Same as favorites as you, great little comparison.  Out of interest, what guitar did you use?

  • Interesting there is no gate, clearly I need to work on my muting technique!

I wouldn't be able to tell real amp from digital at all. Even if I could I'm not sure it matters...

  • I've spent a bit more time with the Helix Revv Purple after liking the above example and finding it quite good! I think I was put off by trying another Revv amp sim which I couldn't take to at all, but this is different and much better.
