The end part of assembly when the two haves slot together (2:20 vid below)

It's not this actual chair but you get the idea........they won't SLOT....it's like a blockage or something!

Any ideas?

use a bigger hammer - that is my go to move, almost always works or breaks it.

Possibly the adjustment lever was in the wrong position when the base plate was bolted to the chair seat?
Or maybe there is a bit of rough metal in the tube part of the base plate or the top of the column stopping it from engaging ?

Edit: Just read your 'Amazon returns' thread. Doesn't sound like assembler error...

Part C is fitting downsides into the upwards option 2.
When have screwed totally please not hold.
Use main finger pushing arse.
Lever D missing from package stop careful.
If with friend make drinkies.
With Part C in upwards position, break forwards towards back.
Look for bolts 3 and nuts 4. Fit together with screwpusher thingy.
Next must unfit nuts 4.
Buyish cheapo shit funny yes.
