Never got round to posting a Making and Modding post for this, because other than drilling a few holes and assembling it, the magic was really done by
@GSPBASSES and @lamf68
Got this body and neck from Graham a while back and shipped it off to Rich, before doing that, ordered up some Schaller tuners. EMG GZR pickups and the rest of the parts.
Got this back from Rich yesterday and put it all together, never used solder less pickup sets before, so much simpler - The paint is really hard to photograph, either looks fairly flat or purple, in real life it has a real depth to it, the colour I picked was holoflake black.
Enough jabbering, here we go:

And good choice on the pickup too. EMG's system is so easy and they sound great.

@fretmeister Very impressed with them so far, you couldn't pay me to have EMG's in a guitar, but these being passive sound great
@Funkfingers I wanted them to blend in to the pick guard from the front no not distract from the finish - these are great control knobs too, got them on two GSP guitars too
The original J EMGs really do sound like 60s Fender ones without any of the hum related drawbacks. There's lots of pros using them even in traditional basses.

Needs an abalone pickguard .

What I really like about it is that it doesn't actually look black!
Think that might be a bit much
With all the sparkly bits, looks more blue, but that works for me
Thanks everyone else for the comments, really happy with it.
