just to put things into perspective, I bought my 335 with a business loan when the banks were offering very low interest rates to help businesses through the pandemic. I just thought sod it I’m gonna get a ten grand loan and buy my dream guitar. I’m In my fifties and left my wife so thought why the hell not.
I see it as an investment(possibly) and something special I can leave my daughter. But most of all I get to play my dream guitar every single day for the fraction of the price many will pay for a car. Well I’d rather drive round in an old banger and have this ‘62 335 for the rest of my years.
Go do it I say

They’re totally different guitars.
The 59 sounds like a vintage mellow guitar, the 345 has had nearly everything changed,
Aset of Sunbear 57 PAF’s and Charles guitars wiring harness.
Both are wonderful guitars but they’re completely different guitars.
The build quality on both guitars are excellent.
I bought both guitars secondhand, Custom shop for £3250 and the 345 for £2500.
There's quite a bit of love here on the forum for these pickups, but I found them bright and not warm sounding.
You may like them but they didn't do anything for me.
The Custom shop 335 has a huge fat neck and is finished with a thinner coat of nitro and is heavier than the 345.
Both guitars are great guitars and both guitars I bought blind without playing them beforehand.
*sigs and ltd runs in particular, the ‘Inspired by’ range are also silly
p.s. The cynic in me also thinks this is part of G’s general marketing strategy - raise the price of the cheap stuff to make the expensive ones look ‘better’ value…

Lowering my expectations has succeeded beyond my wildest dreams.

Worth playing a few if you can op.
More modern sounding or vintage sounding?
Similarly I'm also after the classic 335 sound.
