A friend requires a 61-Note velocity sensitive budget home keyboard for their daughter. She plays a Yamaha MM6 in school, but the budget doesn't stretch that far.
I know the Yamaha PSR and Casio range is vast, and stacks of the things come up in the local classifieds for peanuts, but which ones are 61-Note velocity sensitive and worth looking at ?

The PSR-295 comes up quite a lot in the local ads, albeit for silly high prices . Although on ebay they fetch between £20-70.
I'm surprised the velocity sensitivity is poor. Most of the entry level Yamaha's I've tried in the past were not that bad. Is there not midi functionality in the 295's USB host ?

what i meant by midi was a usb midi out, so it can be used with a daw
"This is the first model WITHOUT the usual 5-pin round MIDI sockets, as all MIDI connectivity takes place through the USB socket, thus eliminating the need for expensive cables or interfaces."
that sounds about right!
now, just have to find one near the £30 mark

Yeah, she may need to take it to school.
