Steinberg UR44C - another interface query

What's Hot
I've been on the lookout for an AI with more inputs to use for a recording/playing project collaboration with my daughter. It's likely to be a one off session so do not want to spend too much. Andertons have quite a good deal on the Steinberg UR44C at the moment, which fits the bill spec wise. It'll be at least as good as the Behringer UM2 I use at the moment, so very tempted.

Anyone got first hand experience of this interface? Or aware of a similarly specc'ed/ quality interface available for less?

Not this model, but I've been using a Steinberg UR824 for many, many years (at least 10) and it's never let me down.

I chose it because it was part of a deal bundled with Cubase (and I needed to upgrade Cubase at that time).  The direct monitoring and built in DSP effects were very useful as, back then, PCs were steam powered which meant that you couldn't work with low latency settings.

I use a Steinberg UR22C for my recording, you'll have heard it in the composition and cover challenges. It's alright, I never got the direct monitoring stuff to work to be honest as they made it over complicated with what software to install, but computers these days seem largely fine anyway to monitor while you're playing anyway. I'd describe it as "largely fine" without being extraordinary
Suffocate me, so my tears can be rain. I'll water the ground where I stand, and the flowers can grow again
