Here's the 2nd Bass Riff of the Month (BRotM) Challenge, being run by
@stratman3142 and
@TTony.
There were loads of entries last month. It would be good to keep that up.
The challenge is now open, and remains open for submissions until 11:30pm on 22nd February 2018.
BRotM can be interpreted by the entrants, ie as simple or complex as they like, to encourage as many as possible to get involved. It could be anything from a single RAW bass track to a full mix of instruments. However, the focus must be on the bass riff.
The bass riff needs to be created using a real stringed bass instrument, so that would include electric or acoustic bass (fretted or unfretted), Chapman stick, double bass - even cello perhaps
Keep it to a maximum of 50 seconds. This is about riffs, not songs.
Send your entry (as an mp3) to brotm@thefb.co.uk
Include your forum name in the email.
Voting will start soon after the submission deadline of 22nd February 2018, with each voter selecting their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice.
First choice gets 5 points - Second choice gets 3 points - Third choice gets 1 point
Voting will end on 11.30pm 28th February 2018
The order and scores of the three people with the most votes will be announced soon after the voting ends. No prizes, it's just for fun.
It's not a competition.

Last months entry was the 1st time I’d recorded anything using GarageBand and a Zoom R16 that I bought 2nd hand and hadn’t got around to using .
Whilst browsing the epic Helix thread it was mentioned that you can trial Helix Native for 15 days for free so I jumped straight on that .
I used a Fender Jap 62 P Bass reissue with Labella flat wounds (that I got from Fretmeister in a trade deal a couple of years ago) , homemade foam mute and the Helix version of an Ampeg B15 , dialled up ”Benny -the drummer “ on GarageBand and messed about for 30 mins before hitting record...

That makes 3 so far.
It's a bit light compared to last month with only three entries so far.
Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!
Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!
That makes 4 entries so far.
But, tomorrow ...
I'll start a new thread for the voting tomorrow.
